PSL Information

Posted on Nov 2, 2010

Hello PSL Committee,
I know this is far away but I want to make sure everybody knows some important details before the league starts.

Please inform your U14,U16 premier teams about this rule adopted last year:

  1. Determining Number of Saskatoon PSL Teams:
    1. For U14 and U16 Girls and Boys PSL teams to impose a maximum of 3 PSL teams for a league which has 4 or more Premier indoor teams and a maximum of 2 PSL teams for a league which has 3 or less Premier indoor teams.
    2. The top teams qualifying for the PSL season would be based on the indoor premier provincial standings after complete full rounds up to mid-February as decided by the SYS staff. In the situation where there will be two PSL teams the 1st and 2nd place teams in the cut-off will have the right to field a PSL team; where there are three PSL teams the top three teams will have the right to field a PSL team. Should any of the qualifying teams decline then the next team in the standings would have a right to put forward a team. Should all allocated spots not be taken the option would be available for a zone who did not field an indoor Premier team to field a PSL team.

The cut off date for the divisions is (as seen in the schedules):

  • U14GP : February 10, 2011
  • U14BP : February 8, 2011
  • U16GP : February 14, 2011
  • U16BP: February 10, 2011

At that date, all games counting towards Prov standings should be done. Provincial standings at these dates, after complete full rounds, will be the "PSL qualifying standings".
