Return to Soccer a Reality
To SUSC Parents and Players,
As you may have heard, return to soccer has become a reality. Saskatoon United Soccer Club (SUSC) will be following the Canadian Soccer's Return to Play guidelines that have been adopted by the Saskatchewan Soccer Association and Saskatoon Youth Soccer. The guidelines take a conservative approach with four phases to follow for returning to play.
The SUSC technical committee and the board have been working on our own return to play which will help mitigate the risk to our staff and players. We will enter the first phase in early July, of no contact soccer which will focus on the player and the ball with social distancing being practiced.
All ages from U9 to U15 will be overseen by our TD and highly certified technical staff. The number of sessions and the start date will be determined by the reopening plan for the city and the province. Our intent is to make the training camp affordable as possible in order to reduce possible financial barriers. The camp sessions will be set up monthly, as the phases can change quite rapidly. Phases will include the gradual engagement of players formulizing into competitive inhouse meaning full competition. We are planning to hold the camps at Newsham field as it is in the heart of our community. It is here that SUSC can become the family that we know it is making sure that safety and wellbeing of our family is maintained. At all times we will create and fun and learning environment for all to participate in the great game of soccer.
Our return to soccer plan will be posted on our website once it is approved with the expectations of the club and the players.
Below is a survey monkey we would like all club members to fill in to help us see how we can best bring the players back for training so please complete it by June 23, 2020. (Survey Monkey Link: https://www.surveymonkey.ca/r/YVVJMP6)

In closing we will be focusing on the training camps, as of today there is no intent for zone or provincial competition until we are given the go ahead from Sask Soccer, the City of Saskatoon and the province.
