Thank you to Tourney Volunteers
SUSC would like to THANK all the volunteers that made the SUSC Admiral Indoor Tournament another major success. SUSC holds the largest indoor tournament in Saskatchewan, and this year was even bigger – 111 teams from U11 to U18, 2 University Academy teams playing 11v11, and the Special Olympics team playing friendlies against some of our zone kids. Without people stepping up and participating, much of the week-end would not have been possible.

Coaching Certification
Please be aware of this. The Under-16 coaching certification requirements for provincials will be changing.  These requirements will be in affect starting next indoor 2008-09. Please read the attached info below from the SSA.

Effective November 30th, 2008, the Saskatchewan Soccer Association hereby requires that all coaching staff on the bench be age appropriately certified pursuant to the provisions of the Saskatchewan Soccer Association coaching program as conducted by the Canadian Soccer Association when a team is participating in a recognized Saskatchewan Soccer Association "Provincial" competition.

The next CCC & CCY coach clinics will be held April 18 - 20, 2008. Full notification here

Dear SUSC Tournament organizers,
On behalf of Special Olympics Saskatchewan Saskatoon and the Saskatoon Fire soccer club I would like to thank you deeply for having our soccer club and athletes in your tournament. Events like these are a huge highlight in these athletes lives.

Many of our athletes live in a well cared for and sponsored environment and just as many live in poor surroundings and get very little in the way of outings etc. I think the fact that many of the athletes were there at the soccer centre 2 and a half hours prior to kick-off shows how important this event is in their lives. This also gives us a chance to show the rest of Saskatoon the sporting lives of special needs athletes.

The SUSC Tournament is an first class tournament and we feel that having our athletes in attendance is a real nice gesture. The athletes came to the tournament with excitement in their hearts and left with huge smiles on their faces.

Once again thank you and congratulations on a successful tournament.

Sincerely,
Gord Quinlan (President) -- Saskatoon Special Olympics
